On a very gray day with low lying clouds, a little opening in the sky dropped some light on a mountain dome along the base of Sable Mountain in Denali Park. I quickly grabbed my 100-400 and captured this fleeting moment from the sun roof of my car. The light was gone in a few seconds. I like the contextual situation in this photo, which reveals part of the landscape in which the wildlife inhabits. I made this a personal assignment on my recent excursion in Denali Park–to try to show the wildlife in context and in the landscape. The close ups are interesting too, but the overall scene adds its part to the story.
