Semi tractor trailer on the Dalton Highway, Mt Sukakpak. Canon. Canon 1Ds Mark III, 100-400mm (105mm), 1/400 sec @ f/9, ISO 200
I’ve been aware of the popular TV series “Ice Road Truckers” for a while, but since I don’t own a TV, I’ve never seen the show. I learned about it during my recent photo tours when traveling the Dalton Highway with fans of the show. The Dalton Highway, in general is in pretty good traveling condition, but at times, it can be treacherous. The mountain in this scene is Mt. Sukakpak, an impressive rock that looks very different depending on which angle you view it. I’ve photographed it many times. Below is a scene of the same mountain from a different location.
