I have not posted many photos recently simply because I have not been behind the camera much. Instead, I’ve been planning for the summer and focusing on getting in shape for some robust summer activities. One of the things I really enjoy about where I live is the access to many trails, right from my doorstep. Both cross country skiing and trail running give ample opportunity to enjoy both seasons. I live about half way up Moose Mountain (see yellow arrow), about 10 miles from Fairbanks, and from my house many trails spill out across the surrounding country. The Running Club North (local Fairbanks running club) both lists and sponsors trail running events and practice sessions, some of which will introduce you to the many trails around the Fairbanks area. As a photographer, any basic trip on foot automatically means that the gear load is higher due to the heavy camera gear in tow. For this reason, it is not a cavalier endeavor to trek any distance efficiently without some degree of preparation and training. And so my pre-photo season period is about to come to a close and I’ll be doing a bunch of trips this summer and will share some of the photo adventures here. Meanwhile, even though the mosquitos have arrived, I’ll be hitting the trails hard.
