Baby moose are commonly observed along Alaska’s roadways in early summer, often in the early morning or later evening hours. I photographed this little one in Denali National Park. Very close by stood its mother and another young calf, as twins are commonly born in the month of May. At this young age, they are usually quite wary and loud sounds or quick movement will send them running for cover. I took this shot from the window of my car, while resting my 500mm lens on a bean bag.
